Where This Celeb Hairstylist Goes for Gifts in West Hollywood

Los Angeles has more stores than anyone could physically tackle, but somehow we always keep returning to the usual suspects. To break out of the rut, we've asked some local shopping and fashion gurus to provide their hidden retail gems—those unique stores around LA that we might not all know about. Cue the Beatles: We're about to get a little help from our friends.

Celebrity hairstylist Dean Banowetz began his career tending to Leeza Gibbons' tresses and soon found himself backstage at American Idol making sure host Ryan Seacrest (and the show's contestants) were camera-ready. Today, he devotes his time to styling big-name clients like Jennifer Hudson, Carrie Underwood and Ellen DeGeneres. Here, he reveals his favorite WeHo gift shop where nothing exceeds $99.

"My favorite place in LA is Tweak99. I was introduced to this amazing spot by Paula Abdul and Michael Orland. Tweak99 is great because every gift is under $99 and they offer amazing, one-of-a-kind handcrafted gifts from all over the world. It's all beautifully pre-wrapped which is perfect for last-minute gift shopping and for restocking your gift closet. They also supply additional services if you want to redecorate on a budget or if you are having issues with being creative for a dinner party table. Tweak99 also has a bridal registry and they offer consulting to help you make those really important wedding decisions. It's absolutely my favorite place to make little decorative changes with a HUGE impact."
